EDream
An eDream is a dream, big idea or breakthrough innovation that requires 'e' enablement to make it happen. Enablement is the sum of actions required what to make an eDream happen. The successful Enablement of an eDream requires:
- People - stakeholders, supporters, providers and social circles
- Knowledge - Communities (Industries, Organizations, etc.) and Idea Spaces (Functional Knowledge, Domain Knowledge, etc.)
- Plan - a multiyear plan or a very concerted plan over 6 to 12 months
- Resources - time, money and other sacrifices for an unknown outcome
- Enduring Grit - perseverance and passion for long-term goals, the confidence to take risks
A dream to graduate from college, a big idea that is a cancer cure and a breakthrough innovation like the Apple iPhone may sound like they have little in common. Yet they have a lot in common when it comes to Enablement to make them happen. Castellina in Tuscany, Italy and New York may not have much it common, though the process to get there by planes, automobiles and GPS devices may be very similar.
Enablement or the 'e' in front the the word dream, is the process to make something happen. It is the process of getting from point A to point B. While the good idea gets all the fanfare, it may get you as little as 1% there. Enablement is the other 99% consisting of People, Knowledge, Plan, Resources and Enduring Grit to make almost anything happen.
