Intro
- Complexity - the unpredictability of a large number of impacting elements operating, reacting and interacting in both certain and uncertain ways.
- Impacting Elements - the people, realities and activities that can impact achieving a mission if they are not identified, understood, addressed and managed.
- Dreams or Complex Goals - meaningful missions that require managing complexity, change, vulnerability, and many iterations to successfully achieve them.
- Enablement - is the process of managing to a complex system to achieve a mission-driven outcome.
- complex system
- Enablement Framework - a framework that efficiently and effectively guides each enablement iteration to successfully achieve a mission-driven outcome. The framework is designed to help to:
- Identify, understand and address the impacting people and realities
- Create and continuously improve the strategy and solutions
- Identify and manage each the impacting activities
- Efficiently and effectively manage and learn from each iteration
- Enablement Process - five step process to manage complexity within a dream or complex goal until the mission-driven outcome is achieved
1. Mission
- Mission - a simple statement of the purpose, direction and desired outcome to be achieve.
2. What People Want
- Personal Well-Being - our unique defintion of good or satisfactory condition of Health, Financial (Basic Needs), Family and Support, Purpose and Meaning, Love and Connection and Competence and Control
- Human Complexity - the unpredictability of people due to the interaction of their unique impacting elements (People, Realities, Activities), defintions of personal well-being, dreams, and complex goals.
3. How People Get What They Want
4. Aspirer
- Aspirer - people who either want to pursue or are pursuing a dream or complex goal.
5. Beneficiary
6. Decision Makers
7. Contributors
8. Communities
9. Realities
- Realities – the state of things as they actually exist, rather than what we want them to be. There are specific sets of realities to a mission, person, community (i.e., family, company, town, world) or an era (i.e., Modern Day, 1960s).
10. Complexity
- Managing Complexity - an outcome-driven approach to achieve a mission by addressing the impacting elements, creating a solution and figuring out how to make it happen through numerous iterations.
11. Change
12. Synchrony'
13. Iteration
- Iteration - a version of the mission, impacting elements, strategy, solution and design aligned to achieve an outcome, dream or complex goal.
- Complex Adaptive Solution - an iterative solution that achieves the mission by adapting to change and evolves with the uncertainty from complexity. It consists of continuous improvement of strategies, solutions and measures to evaluate progress.
- Iteration Generator - is repeatable process to efficiently and effectively manage numerous iterations when complexity creates uncertainty. It is designed to managing the complexity within dreams and complex goals.
- Enablement Design – is how the solution is to be created and how the overall pursuit will be communicated, funded and operationalized as weel as personal needs addressed.
- Create and Implement – is creating the solution and implementing the plan defined in the enablement design
14. Problem or Unmet Need
15. Enablement Framework
16. Strategy
- Strategy - approaches that deliver progress toward achieving the mission and address potential barriers to achieving the mission from the Impacting Elements
17. Solution
18. Measures
19. Communication
20. Operational
21. Funding
22. Personal Needs
23. Iteration Creation
