The mission describes the aspirer(s) purpose for pursuing the eDream and what achieving it will deliver. It may include references to who are the beneficiaries, how (solution) it will achieved and what (problem/unmet need) it is being addressed. A clearly defined mission provides direction and helps determining priorities in your life.

'Sonia From The Bronx' had a mission to become a judge and is now a justice on the United States Supreme Court. A young Afghan woman's mission to improve opportunity for millions of women has already improved many people's lives. The types of missions include:

  • Personal Mission - The primary beneficiary is also the aspirer.
  • Loved Ones Mission - The primary beneficiaries could include the aspirer's family and/or very close friend(s) to the aspirer(s) and the aspirer(s). If there is only one primary beneficiary and they are not the aspirer, it would still be categorized as 'loved ones' even though it is singular.
  • Relationship Mission - The primary beneficiaries would be someone the aspirer has a relationship with and the aspirer. The primary mission would be to improve the relationshp between the aspirer and the beneficiary(ies).
  • General Mission - The primary beneficiaries include people that are not either the aspirer or could be included in the 'Loved Ones Mission'.

Mission Insight is the process of understanding the aspirer(s) purpose and desired outcome (mission) of an eDream, like improving the college graduation for disadvantaged students was for Mike Feinberg and Dave Levin.

The mission is a component of the eDream.
